There are a variety of programs suitable for families and youth of all ages.
Family Rosary:
A time for families to come together in prayer and reflection on their faith. New this year, we will schedule four quarterly family rosary gatherings. All JPII Homeschool families will be invited to attend. Typically, we start with the rosary and end with some snacks. You are welcome to bring something to share if you'd like.
Field Trips:
Educational outings designed to enhance learning experiences outside of home.
Friday PE:
Physical education activities encouraging fitness and teamwork among children. Over the years, Dianna Hartwell and her family have graciously given their time to lead our Friday PE group. They have led us in a variety of sports, such as baseball, kickball, soccer, and miscellaneous court games, including pickleball. We begin with prayer and warm-ups, and then break into some organized sports. It is a very relaxed environment, and there's always time for the kids to just run around and play, and parents to socialize. We try to stay in the Mandarin area since our ministry is based out of St. Joseph's, typically meeting at Chuck Rogers Park or Flynn Park. We need parent helpers every week, so please come with a willingness to help! Ideas for activities are always welcome, so feel free to reach out to Dianna if you have any to share or if you have any questions at all.
New Homeschooler Consulting:
Support for families new to homeschooling with guidance and resources.
Adopt an Island Service Project:
Community service project aimed at teaching stewardship of creation. New this year, we have adopted the "St. Joseph" island with the Grounds Beautification Ministry at St. Joseph's. We will be responsible for caring for this island throughout the year. Once we come up with a date, we will have a sign-up for families who would like to come out and help. Stay tuned!
JP II Family Business Directory:
An opportunity for member businesses to connect with each other. New this year, we are putting together a directory for any JPII family that owns a business. If you or your spouse, or any of your adult children, own a business and would like to be included in this directory, please fill out the information on our member roster. We hope this directory will serve as a helpful resource as well as create awareness and support within our community.
